Aristeidis (Aris) Danikas

Aris Danikas is the founder and CEO of the Non-For-Profits organisation, Liberty of Speech, previously known as Blueprint for Free speech Greece. After moving to South Africa to set up an electronics business he was welcomed into the community and invited to become a reservist police investigator. Ten years later he blew the whistle on serious and violent racially motivated crime and corruption. His evidence led to an investigation and convictions but at a great personal cost. Aris and his family were forced to leave his life in South Africa.

In 2016 Aris received the prestigious Special Recognition award for his courage from Blueprint for Free Speech. Shortly after he launched 'Liberty of Speech' an NGO in Greece set up to assist whistleblowers and promote human rights advocacy. Now proudly partnered with WhistleblowersUK Aris is part of a global community of advocates committed to the development of a Global Treaty giving rights and protection to whistleblowers around the world.
