The cost of leaving whistleblowers unheard: The Lucy Letby Case

The reaction to the case of Lucy Letby provides ample reason for the government to adopt the Protection for Whistleblowing Bill currently before Parliament, legislation that will prevent the catalogue of disastrous decisions that led to the death of so many babies and caused so much damage to the lives of hundreds of people. Lucy Letby is just one of a string of cases serious enough to trigger an independent investigation into maternity services in the UK, demonstrating how ignoring or silencing whistleblowers has facilitated and continues to facilitate those who cause harm to others.

We cannot allow yet another whistleblower to be silenced to the detriment of another baby.

Whistleblower must be protected at any and all costs and to do this PIDA must be repealed and replaced by the Protection for Whistleblowing Bill
